We believe that all children have the right to be safe in our society and that we must have in place procedures that will help protect them. We believe we provide a safe environment for children to learn in.

We support children’s development in ways that will cultivate a sense of self-esteem and independence. We identify and respond to children in need of support and/or protection.

We acknowledge that children can be harmed physically, emotionally, sexually or by neglect. It is our duty to report any concerns that we have of child abuse as the health, safety, and protection of all children is paramount.

3 Children Islamic Education

Alhamdulilah, Eden Foundation have been providing weekday evening Islamic Education also known as Madrassah for pupils aged from 5 -11 years old for over 12 years. Our qualified English speaking teachers who have been DBS checked and have been trained to work with young children have been teaching pupils in our madrassah for many years using the latest techniques and tools to educate pupil to highest calibre in Islamic knowledge and reading and understanding the Quran.

Eden Foundation Madrassah Structure

Eden Foundation Madrassah consists of  2 hours sessions, Monday to Friday and are broken down into two lesson. First lesson the pupil will learn how to read the Quran with tajweed rules and the second lesson pupil will be taught the basic principle and foundation of Islam over a 5 year period course. At the end of each academic year pupils are tested orally on their reading of the Quran from external examiner. Furthermore, year 2, 3,4 and 5 undertake a written examination on topics of the syllabus they had been taught throughout the academic year. This examination enables us to see how much Islamic knowledge each individual student understood.

After examination and results students are awarded at the presentation event for their achievement in examination results, attendance and behaviour. This coming academic year some of the students who have completed the 5 year course successfully will graduate with an special award for their achievement of completing the course.

4 Curriculum

Eden Foundation Islamic school offers a full and balanced Islamic curriculum while ensuring the essential knowledge of Islam are taught effectively. We also aim to integrate a solid Islamic standard, which will enable our children to represent their identity practically. An emphasis will be made on good manners, discipline and respect for all Allah’s creation.

The school offers an Islamic education which includes: – Recitation of the Holy Qur’aan, Aadhaab (manners), Fiqh (Islamic studies) and Seerah (the life of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Assessments

Teachers plan high quality work for children with assessment tasks designed to monitor and ensure that teaching is effective. We record all progress regularly in order to be able to plan the next stages of learning and teaching. At the end of each academic year the children will  be tested orally of their Quran Recitation by external examiners. Furthermore a written examination of what they have learn throughout the academic is undertaken, in order to achieve a realistic and valid assessment of their progression and learning.

Appropriate observations are made with regards to the six areas of learning: Creative Development, Islamic Language and Literacy, Islamic Knowledge and Understanding of the Quran, Personal, Social and Physical Development. We will also be introducing parent’s involvement in their child’s progress and assessment. Parents are requested to ensure that children do not take additional holidays over and above the school holiday period.

Parents must bear in mind that unless children attend Islamic school regularly, the information collated by teachers through systematic assessment will be less than satisfactory. It is therefore very important that absence from Islamic school is kept to the bare minimum unless under the most unavoidable circumstances.

We hold two parents meeting throughout the academic year which allows the parents to discuss with teachers face to face in regards to their child progression and any concerns in the Islamic school. We humbly request that all parents attend this important parent meeting by the appointed time allocated .
